Castelli Romani on two wheels is the newest experience to join the Scooteroma family!

Do as the Romans do and head outside the city walls to spend the day in the countryside. Your private driver will pick you up from your hotel in a Mercedes sedan and escort you to the town of Castel Gandolfo. Alternatively, hop a direct train from downtown Rome to the same village where you will meet up with our Squad and their wheels. Beautiful Castel Gandolfo is historically famous for the Papal summer residence situated on a hill overlooking Lago Albano, one of the largest volcanic crater lakes in Lazio.

After a short walk through town with your guide, you will hop on the back of our Vespa and start cruising the winding, country roads! Sit back and soak in the views, the nature, and the history of this area. Castelli Romani is known as the backdrop for the summer villas of the Renaissance aristocratic families as well as the Ancient Roman history such as villas, ruins, and roads dating back to BC.

The tour continues with a guided visit at a Byzantine abby filled with frescoes and mosaics designed to steal your breath away. Since we are foodies over here at Scooteroma no tour would be complete without a pit stop to savor the famous ‘porchetta’ seasoned pork, regional cheeses, locally baked bread, and the delicious, typical red wine of the Castelli Romani. After lunch, wheels up direction Frascati, our final stop. Along the way we will pass by more Ancient Roman roads and striking Renaissance villas. You will feel like you have stepped into an Italian film as we take in the ambience of this majestic architecture. Known for its famous white wine, Frascati is a true gem in this countryside experience. Once home to Roman aristocracy, its notable villas were built from the 16th century onwards by Popes, cardinals and Roman nobles as “status symbols.”
