Street Art Walk
Experience the brilliant work of street artists without stepping one foot into an Italian palazzo.
Astounding artwork lines the walls and ceilings of all the museums and cathedrals in Rome, however these days you do not need to enter a building to witness the brilliant work of Italian artists. Rome’s street art movement is changing the look and feel of the city and bringing curious visitors to unseen neighborhoods. Ostiense, the beating heart of street art in Rome, is an authentic Roman quarter where contempary artists and creatives are using the facades of old houses or abandoned buildings as a canvas for large colorful murals.
During this three-hour tour we will show you a selection of pieces, big and small, while sharing the history of the neighborhood and how it related to Rome in the 21st century. You will learn the story of the neighborhoods of Ostiense and Garbatella and the socio-political messages of street artists such as Blu, Momo, Agostino Lacurci, Solo, Diamond and more. As always, we will stop along the way at an authentic Roman caffè so you can visit with the locals and sample a perfect espresso.
