My tour with Scooteroma was definitely the highlight of my trip and allowed me to explore the city in a completely unique way. I wanted to get to know Rome and all its quirks, which Annie and Giovanni managed to deliver perfectly, showing a mixture of the main sights like the Colosseum and the Forum, as well as cool places like Trastevere (think cool, off-the-beaten-track Rome, with traditional buildings and a medieval piazza). I won’t spoil it by telling you the entire route, but there was a great combination of places you’ll have read about in guidebooks and other places that you might not have heard of but that will interest you. I work in travel and found the Scooteroma tour to be the perfect introduction to Rome – far better than what you’d get on a bus tour! It’s a personal and quirky approach to the city that you can easily fit into your trip, even if you’re only there for a few days. I also ended up with a list of great restaurant and sightseeing recommendations from Annie, which I put to good use after the tour.

We loved our scooter experience so much that I whined the rest of the trip without a scooter.
Anyone can tour through Italy. But only the adventurous and daring can brag, “Yeah, I saw Rome by scooter!” A total blast and such an efficient way to traverse Rome and get to know this large city. The historical lesson was relevant and brought the ancient attractions to life.

If you want to tour Rome but don’t want to feel like a tourist, this is the perfect way to see Rome from a distance but also be a part of it at the same time (you get the up close and feel of the most beautiful pockets of Rome). Giovanni took my friend and I around town and was very accommodating, and might I add, a wonderful photographer and safe driver! Both my friend and I have been to Rome but we both felt like we revisited a new city through Scooteroma! Thanks again for changing your schedule around to do the tour for us! I should mention the history and knowledge you shared with us on the tour of Rome was great and we both felt very safe as pillion passengers with you and Mimmo winding our way thru to the outskirts of the Roman walls to the Appian Way & other out of the way places. Let me begin by saying I truly don’t know where to begin – everything about their services, themselves, and their network in Italy was excellent beyond words! They showed us a side of Rome few non-Italians ever see – a Rome of quaint back alleys, historic plazas, beautiful gardens, and fabulous restaurants – all by Vespa! Their understanding of the history, legends, and stories provided real insight and color to what we were seeing and truly transported us back to other times. We felt like we were living in a Fellini movie buzzing past the Piazza Navone on our Vespas, but most importantly we felt safe and comfortable in their hands. They arranged a fabulous guide as well as luxury transportation for sight-seeing in Pompeii, the historic quarter in Naples, and selected a superb restaurant for us to sample real Neapolitan cuisine favored by the locals. They arranged first rate transportation and marvelous guides to take us up and down the Amalfi Coast and gave us numerous tips for great shopping, dining, and special sights/events along the way. The guides and drivers they engage are first rate – extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, intelligent, and their language skills are superb. Giovanni & Anne’s attention to detail and commitment to ensuring a fabulous experience for us was at level of professionalism beyond any travel service I’ve engaged – ever. Both Celia and I have traveled extensively in Europe, Italy in particular, for both business and pleasure. My husband arranged for us to spend the day with Annie on our last day in Rome. We had been to Rome a few times before but NEVER seen all of these incredible viewpoints and little-known treasures. Their tips on great restaurants and gelato places will also make sure that you get to experience the genuine Roman food while you’re there, something you must do if you ever visit Rome.

If you haven’t fallen in love with Rome already by just being there then Annie will make sure that you do. Not only is she a joy to spend time with but she’s also very knowledgeable about everything Roman, be it history, customs, food or language. I thought it couldn’t get any better than walking around in Rome, but after scootering around with Annie and seeing not only the more famous sites but also the secluded places where not many tourists go I realized that there’s much more to Rome than I first thought. Once you’ve zipped through traffic on a Vespa and experienced the views of Rome from Gianicolo and Aventino Hill you’ll never want to leave the city, and you’ll seriously consider getting a Vespa.

Some say that throwing a coin over your shoulder into the Fontana di Trevi will ensure that you return to Rome, I say scootering with Annie is at least twice as effective. I can’t wait to go back there and go scootering again.

It is impossible to describe what’s happening inside of you when you are in Rome. You are enchanted, you are mesmerized, you have butterflies in your stomach. Everytime when I see a scooter on a street I immediately get transformed on the back of Annie’s scooter, zipping through majestic piazzas with pleasant breeze of Tyrrhenian sea caressing your face, passing by crowded trattorias and getting drunk on intoxicating aroma of freshly made Roman pizzas and other local delicacies. So many hidden paths and secrets in this magnificent city were revealed to me by Annie and Giovanni. I fell in love instatly! Everyone should experience Rome at least once in their lifetime. And even if it will be once (which I highly doubt) it should be done with someone who can do it the best and I can assure hundred percent, nobody does it better then Scooter Maven and Mr. G. So, don’t wait another minute, call them, write them, meet them!

A few years ago I was on a long trip traveling through Europe, with my last stop being Rome. My sister emailed me at the last minute and told me I had to look up her friend Annie when I got there -I did, and it was one of my favorite travel experiences ever! She asked me if I’d ever ridden a motorcycle before, to which I replied, yes, like 20 years ago…and before I knew it I was weaving through Rome traffic trying to keep up;) Riding a scooter is fun period, but riding a scooter in such an amazing city, with such a charismatic tour guide, was such an unforgettable experience I can’t recommend it enough. Go there now and call Annie, you won’t be disappointed! And one piece of advice if you want to blend in with the Romans-while-in-Rome -dress well! They are probably the best dressed people on the planet, even while riding their Vespas…while talking and their cell phones…and sipping their espressos….

When in Rome do as the Romans do… which means Scootering! There is no better way to see all the incredible sites of Rome than on a Scooter Maven tour.
