Mr. G had the great pleasure of doing a tour with Susanna Bjorninger, a writer for Solo Italia of Sweden. Here’s a translated excerpt from her awesome article about us:

In the garden.

Aventino becomes the target for the next stop. Here we find the famous orange garden Giardino degli Aranci, which is a magnificent place. From here you get a wonderful silhouette of Rome.

At the Piazza Cavalieri di Malta you will find a mysterious keyhole to the garden, but what’s going on behind you must find out for yourself!

The sun shines and warms my face. I could stay up here the rest of the day and sit in a bar and sip a glass of wine, because it is really cozy here. The area inspires a rural feel even though we are still in the center Rome.

We recently had the great pleasure of guiding Polly and her sister on a three-hour Motorino tour. Polly has some great tips for anyone who will be scooting their way through Rome:

“Wear plenty of layers, as it will be colder than on the pavement!

Choose to be a passenger, unless you have relevant driving experience.

Book your tour during the earlier part of your city break, as it will help you to get your bearings and see which landmarks are close to each other.

Don’t forget your camera!”

Scooteroma featured on The Travel Channel’s Trip Flip – “See Rome by Vespa”

Travel Channel asks “What’s the most thrilling way to see Rome?” and The Scooter Maven is glad to answer!

Trip Flip host Bert Kreischer ‘flips a trip’ for two lucky American tourists.

After meeting The Maven they are off on two wheels for a look at Ancient Rome. They whiz down world famous Via dei Fori Imperiali and past the Coliseum, with The Maven providing historical tidbits all along the way.

Nasoni are the publics fountains that can be found all over the city. Rome has a very long history with these often beautiful fountains. The water is clean, drinkable & comes from the Roman aqueducts.

Ask your guide about the nasoni, you will drink from a few during your tour !!
